Career and Technical Education offers a complete range of career options for all students, helping them to discover their interests and the educational pathways that lead to success. These programs offer students the opportunity to achieve industry-recognized certifications, work-based learning experiences, and articulated college credits.

CTE helps students gain the technical skills, rigorous academic foundation, and real-world experience they need for post-secondary education and a high-skill, high-wage, high-demand career.

All SLPS high schools below offer college level academic courses through Cambridge Advanced Certificate of Education (AICE), Advanced Placement (AP), or Dual Enrollment.  Lincoln Park Academy also offers International Baccalaureate (IB).

Pre-apprenticeship provide an avenue for youth who are at least 16 years old to become qualified to enter registered apprenticeship programs in the same trade.

St Lucie Public Schools offer pre-apprenticeship programs providing technical instruction to high school students beginning junior year into senior year. After completing their high school program, pre-apprentices may be granted preference for entry into registered, sponsored apprenticeship programs. They may also receive credit for the completion of their registered apprenticeship program, often shortening the program length by as much as a year.

The pre-apprenticeships offered in St Lucie Public Schools lead into registered trades of Carpenter and Industrial Manufacturing Technician.

The pre-apprenticeships are offered at Port St Lucie High School in the Building Construction Trades Program.
